P. Carnes, which sad event occurred at her residence, corner of Mulberry and Middleton Streets at 11:45 o'clock. Miss Carnes was a lady of rare ability, being the principal of a private school for young ladies here for a number of years. She was a devout Christian and one of the most charitable ladies in our community, and by her death the poor will miss one of their best friends. Her funeral will take place from St. Paul's P. E. Church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
