  Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, July 29, 1992 
Cornelia "Corny" Carpenter of the 600 block of Connecticut Ave., died July 
27, 1992.
Mrs. Carpenter was born in Tarboro, N.C., and was the widow of James 
Carpenter.
Survivors include a daughter, Anna Skinner; a stepsister, Virginia Exxum; 
and a stepbrother, Methuselah Exxum, all of Norfolk; six grandchildren and 
five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Metropolitan Funeral 
Service by the Rev. Horace Pratt. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. 
Family and friends will assemble at 10:15 a.m. at 631 Connecticut Ave., for 
the procession.
