Carpenter Dies in Hospital Mrs. Laura O'Neill Carpenter, widow of David Carpenter and daughter of the late Charles H. and Mrs. Mary Gray O'Neill, died at a local hospital last night at 6:50 o'clock. Mrs. Carpenter was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, residing at 144 West Ocean View Avenue at the time of her death. She was one of the oldest members of Freemason Street Baptist Church. Surviving her are a sister, Mrs. Abbott Morris, of Norfolk and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock, with the Rev. Sparks W. Melton, D.D., pastor of Freemason Street Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
