William C. Carpenter, 52, of the 500 block of Glendale Avenue, passed away May 13, 
2006, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

A native of Virginia Beach, VA, he was a Codes Inspector for the City of Norfolk 
and the son of Samuel and Jean Carpenter of Virginia Beach. He was a member of 
Crossroads Hunting Club and a former member of the Norfolk Blues Rugby Team.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Karen Belfiore Carpenter, 
of Norfolk; a son, Christian Carpenter, of Norfolk; four sisters, Linda Carpenter, 
Brenda Williams, Debra Moss, and Donna Carpenter; a brother, Edward Carpenter; and 
many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church 
Saturday at 10 am with Fr. Cristiano Brito, OSB officiating. Burial will be 
private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the 
American Diabetes Association.
