VIRGINIA BEACH - Bertha Amanda Carpovich, 78, of the 1200 block of Glyndon Drive, 
passed away March 25, 2004, in a local hospital.  Mrs. Carpovich was a former 
resident of Massachusetts and had lived in the Virginia Beach area for more than 
20 years.  She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and was a 
loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her daughter, Jean Symons, and her husband, John, of Virginia 
Beach; a son, Billy William Harris, of Massachusetts; four grandchildren; seven 
great-grandchildren; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in St. Gregory the Great Catholic 
Church by Father John-Mary Tompkins O.S.B.  Interment will follow in St. Mary's 
Catholic Cemetery, Norfolk.  H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is 
handling arrangements.
