Ledger Dispatch June 17, 1909
Mrs. Susan J. Carraway, widow of Peter F. Carraway, died at 10 o’clock this 
morning at the home of her son, Milton F Carraway, No. 111 N. Maltby Avenue 
after an illness of three weeks, aged 65 years. She was a native of North 
Carolina, and had lived here for seven years. She is survived by the following 
children: Mrs. Olie Bacon, of Laurel, Del.; Mrs. Emma Bradley, of Brooklyn, N. 
Y., John H. Carraway and Charles Carraway, of Winthrop Mills, N. C. , and 
William Carraway and Milton Carraway of Norfolk. The Funeral will take place at 
3 p.m. tomorrow from the Trinity Methodist Church, Brambleton, the pastor, Rev. 
C. H. Galloway, officiating.
