Norfolk Virginian Pilot March 24, 1937

Mrs. Ellen Burke Carrigan, aged 91, widow of Daniel Carrigan, a native of 
Dundee, Scotland, a resident of Norfolk for the last 17 years, died yesterday 
morning at 11 o'clock at the residence, 114 West Thirty-ninth Street.
She was the daughter of the late Mary Daily and Thomas Burke.
Mrs. Carrigan is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Christian MacDonald, of 
Edinburg, Scotland; Mrs. W.T. Glenn, Atlantic City, N.J. and B.U. Elliott, 
Norfolk, one sister, Mrs. Christine Kelley, of New York, a number of 
grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 610-612 East 
Freemason Street, tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock. Interment will be in St. 
Mary's Cemetery.

Mrs. Ellen Burke Carrigan — Funeral services for Mrs. Carrigan, widow of Daniel 
Carrigan, whose death occurred Tuesday morning at the residence, 114 West 39th 
street, were held at H. D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments yesterday morning at 11 
o'clock, with the Rev. J. 0. Schmidhauser, of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 
officiating. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The casket 
was covered with a pall of Easter lilies, pink roses and ferns. Interment was in 
St. Mary's Cemetery. The pallbearers were Vernon E. Bluford, Jack Goldstein, W. 
Carroll Mitchell, Charles E. Francis, Thomas McDonald, Jack Staley, A. J. Russo 
and J. Frank Bisese.
