Mr. Carrington is a native of Oxford, NC, but had lived in Norfolk for the last 35 years. He is the son of the late Richard and Everjane Carrington, of Oxford. Final rites were held at the New First Baptist Church, with the Rev. R. L. Harris officiating, asssted by the Reverends W. C. Clark and James Wynn. Pretlow Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Carrington is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Alease Cooke, Janete Perkins and Cecilia Saunders, of NY; Mrs. Evora Cambell of Washington DC; son, Lindsay Carrington of NY. Two brothers, Augustus, of Queen City; Henry, of Washington DC, fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Burial took place at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
