The Virginian Pilot Wednesday July 18, 1984
William David Carroll Sr., 79, of 5656 Tidewater Drive, Apartment 19, died 
Monday in a hospital. He was a native of Norfolk and the widower of Virginia 
Palmer Carroll.
Mr. Carroll had retired from a job at Railway Express Co.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Young of San Diego; two sons, William 
D. Carroll Jr. of Norfolk and Robert Carroll of Lenoir, N.C.; a sister, Ida 
Wood of Chesapeake; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Twiford's Funeral Chapel. 
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
