Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch September 23, 1914
The funeral of Mrs. Sabrinia Carroll, widow of David W. Carroll, occurred at 3:30 
p.m. today, at the home of her son-in-law, C. W. Lawton, 4 First street, East 
Brambleton, and was largely attended, Rev. J. A. Christian, of Park Avenue 
Presbyterian Church, officiating. There were handsome floral tributes. Interment 
in Elmwood cemetery. Mrs. Carroll died yesterday afternoon, at Mr. Lawton’s, after 
an illness of more than a year, aged 56 years. She was a native of North Carolina, 
had lived here 15 years, and was highly esteemed. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. 
C. W. Lawton and Mrs. T. L. Savage, both of Norfolk, and Mrs. W. S. Etheridge, of 
Cape Henry, and two sons, George Carroll and Walter Carroll, both of Norfolk.
