Virginian-Pilot  October 2, 1916
The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth A. Carroll took place yesterday at St. Mary’s 
Catholic church at 3 p.m., conducted by Rev. George Dunn. The burial services in 
St. Mary's cemetery were conducted by Rev J. J. Doherty and Rev. M. J. Ahern of 
Old Point Comfort college. The services were largely attended and there were many 
floral offerings. "Lead Kindly Light" and "Abide With Me," were sung by Mrs. James 
Hughes. The pallbearers were William M. Hannan, John F. O’Connor, A. A. O'Brien, 
James A. Ridgewell, James J. Pendergrast, H. D. Oliver and James J. Brounly.
