Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, May 31, 1990 
Joycelyn Welch Paige Carter, of the 6600 block of Chesapeake Blvd., a retired
insurance agent, died May 26, 1990, in a hospital.

Mrs. Carter, a Norfolk native, had retired from North Carolina Mutual Life
Insurance Co. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church and had
attended Lynchburg Seminary.

Survivors include a daughter, Nokomis P. Pollard of Ettrick, Va.; a son, Vichaux
W. Carter of Miami; three brothers, R.G.L. Paige III and Kenswill C. Paige, both
of Norfolk, and Deutrelle L. Paige of Los Angeles; and eight grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in First United Presbyterian
Church by the Rev. Otis Wynn. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends may
join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in Graves Funeral Home and other times
at 865 Lexington St. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
