Virginian-Pilot November 17, 1971
CHARLOTTESVILLE - Miss Virginia Lee Carter, 70, of 115 Wertland St., died 
Tuesday morning in a Gloucester nursing home after a short illness.
A native of Norfolk, she lived here 30 years.
She was a daughter of Richard D. and Mrs. Annie McLean Carter.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Memorial Episcopal Church.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Earl T. Cooke of Williamsburg; and a brother, Cecil 
McLean Carter of Norfolk.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, 
by the Rev. Walton W. Davis of St Paul’s Episcopal Church, Norfolk. Garrison 
Funeral Home, Williamsburg, has charge.
