Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - September 14, 2003
Ana Alicia Carter, 81, of the 1300 block of Chestnut Ave., passed away Sept. 13, 
2003, in her residence. Born in Panama Canal Zone, Ana was the wife of the late 
Arthur Edward Carter. 
She is survived by a son, John D. Carter of Virginia Beach; two daughters, 
Jennifer C. Gibson and her husband Garry of Barboursville, W.Va. and Sandra C. 
Smith and husband Ralph of Chesapeake; a brother, Ramiro Vasquez of Panama; two 
sisters, Nancy MoKray of Panama and Chaveline Vasquez of Colorado; 13 
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, 
Ronald D. Carter.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 
Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. Burial will follow in 
Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday 
from 6 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-
