Carter, who for some time was engaged in mission work in the city, died at the Norfolk City Mission yesterday after an illness of three months. The deceased was for three years a matron at the Norfolk Union Mission. She leaves three children, a son in Norfolk, two daughters, one in New York and the other in Greensboro, N.C. She was a Lutheran in faith, and held her membership with the First Lutheran Church of Norfolk. The funeral will be held later.
