Norfolk - Mrs. Hattie Carter, 72, of 1211 Dundale Ave. died Monday at midnight 
in a relative’s home in Princess Anne County after a short illness.

She was a daughter of Tom and Mrs. Martha Sayles and was born in Norfolk County.

Surviving are two sons, Allen Mitchell and Robert Mitchell; one daughter, Mrs. 
Zadie Lee Artibridge; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Julia Carter; and nine 
grandchildren, all of Norfolk.

The body was taken to E. A. Hughes Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 
in Zion Light Christ Disciples Church Sunday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. J. T. 
Jones, pastor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
