Carty, and son of the late John and Mrs. Mary Cotton Carty, a native and lifelong residence of Norfolk, died at 7 o'clock yesterday morning at the residence, 850 West Thirty- seventh Street. Mr. Carty was a member of the Norfolk Fire Department for many years, until his retirement several years ago. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, of the Knights of Columbus and of the Firemen Association. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Miss M. Grace Carty and Mrs. Agnes Geerman; one brother, Lawrence F. Carty and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
