HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Robert B. Carty, 86, of 3430 Riverside Drive, a native of 
Norfolk, died Saturday in a hospital.

He was the husband of the late Mrs. Elizabeth C. Carty and retired from 
International Nickel Co., of Huntington, after 30 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Miss Mary Louise Carty of Huntington; three sons, 
Robert J. Carty of Portsmouth, Ohio, Richard A. Carty of Hialeah, Fla., and Emmett 
F. Carty of Santa Barbara, Calif.; a sister, Miss Catherine Louise Carty, and a 
brother, the Rev. Vincent Carty, both of Norfolk; 13 grandchildren; and seven 
great-grandchildren.

The body was sent to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, where a Christian 
Wake service will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 
Thursday at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary's 
Cemetery, Norfolk. The family suggests that flowers be omitted and memorial 
donations may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, Norfolk.
