Norfolk Virginian Pilot August 3, 1952

Mrs. Mary Alice Ryan Carty, 86, wife of Robert Joseph Carty, died at her 
residence, 1603 St. Denis Avenue, yesterday at 5:20 p.m. She was a native of 
Norfolk and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Sodality of Christ the 
King Church and of the Ladies' Auxiliary, A.O.H.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. John H. Scott, of 
Franklin; Mrs. J. Anthony Butt and Miss Louise Carty, of Norfolk; three sons, 
Robert B. Carty, of Huntington, W.Va.; William I. Carty, of Bristol, Conn. and 
the Rev. Vincent Carty, of Morristown, S.D.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-
grandchildren.
The body was removed to the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Christ the King 
Catholic Church. Rosary services will be held tomorrow at 8 p.m. at the 
residence.

CARTY, MARY ALICE RYAN - At her residence, 1603 St. Dennis Avenue, Saturday, 
August 2, 1952, at 5:20 p.m., Mary Alice Ryan Carty, wife of Robert Joseph 
Carty, and daughter of the late Matthew and Mrs. Mary Mulholland Ryan, in the 
87th year 
of her age.  The remains will be taken from the residence to Christ the King 
Catholic Church for funeral services Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock.  Interment, 
St. Mary's Cemetery.

MRS. MARY ALICE RYAN CARTY - The body of Mrs. Carty, who died Saturday, will be 
taken from the residence, 1603 St. Dennis Avenue, to Christ the King Catholic 
Church for funeral services tomorrow at 10 a.m.  Rosary services will be 
conducted at the residence tonight at 8 o'clock.
