Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark April 28, 1918

Miss Katie Cecilia Cashin died yesterday morning, at 12:10 o'clock, following an 
illness of about a week, at the residence, 2601 Granby Street. Miss Cashin was 
the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Cashin. She was a native of 
Norfolk, very well known and much beloved, and was a member of St. Mary's 
Catholic Church.
Miss Cashin is survived by three brothers, John C. Cashin, Michael T. Cashin and 
Thomas M. Cashin and two sisters, Miss Annie C. Cashin and Mrs. John E. Milan, 
all of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Church, Monday morning, at 10 
o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

The funeral of Miss Katie Cecelia Cashin was held yesterday morning at 10 
o’clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church, four priests officiating. Rev. Joseph 
Friolo of Roanoke, celebrant; Rev. P. P. Brennan, deacon; Rev. Vincent Warren, 
sub-deacon; Rev. George W. Dunn, master of ceremonies. Rev. John J. Doherty and 
Rev R. B. Kealey were also present. The funeral was largely attended and there 
was a magnificent display of floral offerings. During the services Mrs. Jas. 
Hughes sang "Angels Ever Bright and Fair." Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery, 
the pallbearers being as follows: William Connelly, David Donovan, James G. 
Long, Paul Santos, James Madden, David Fitzgibbon, J. C. Prince, M. J. Murphy, 
Dr. J. A. Hart and Joseph S. Crowling.
