DIED
CASHIN - At his residence, No. 463 Church Street, on Thursday, September 30, 1909, 
at 7:30 o'clock a.m., Michael Cashin, aged 72 years.

Funeral services from St. Mary's Catholic Church this (Saturday) morning at 10 
o'clock.  Friends of the family are invited to attend.

FUNERALS
MICHAEL CASHIN
The funeral of the late Michael Cashin was held from St. Mary's Catholic Church, 
of which the deceased was, for many years, a consistent member, at 10 o'clock 
yesterday morning and was attended by a large concourse of friends.  Solemn high 
requiem mass was celebrated; the following priests officiating: Celebrant, Rev. 
Father John Doherty, of St. Mary's Church, Norfolk; deacon, Rev. Father Joseph 
Frioli, of Newport News; sub-deacon, Rev. Father M. Hare, of St. Paul's Church, 
Portsmouth; master of ceremonies, Rev. Father Edward J. Walsh, of St. Mary's 
Church, Norfolk.  Revs. Father Drake, Smith, Houlihan and Kelishor occupied seats 
in the sanctuary.  During the solemn exercises, Father Doherty paid an eloquent 
and touching tribute to the life and character of the deceased as a Christian and 
a citizen.  There was a wealth of beautiful floral tributes in attestation of the 
esteem and love in which Mr. Cashin was held in the community.  The remains were 
laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Following were the pallbearers:
Honorary - Dr. James G. Riddick, W. H. H. Trice, John R. Coleman, Wm. M. Hannan, 
James W. Long, C. F. Kegebein, Patrick Holden, John A. Beacher.
Active - John E. Milan, B. P. Wall, Thomas S. Fitzgibbon, Joseph M. Clark, John T. 
Kevill, W. J. O'Keefe, M. J. Fitzgibbon and James V. Trehy.
