CASHIN DIES AT HOME FORMER MEMBER OF COUNCIL AND WELL KNOWN CITIZEN John C. Cashin died this morning at the residence, 2601 Granby Street, after several weeks' illness, aged 61 years. He was among Norfolk's best known citizens, and was formerly a member of the city council. He was a native of the city and was a son of the late Michael and Catherine Cashin. His wife, who was Miss Cecelia Frioli, of Portsmouth, died some years ago. During the Cleveland administration, Mr. Cashin was a foreman in the construction department of the navy yard here. He has been connected in business for some time with his brother, M. T. Cashin, metal dealer. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks and the Hibernians. Mr. Cashin was a man of sterling worth and had a great many friends in the community. He is survived by a daughter, Miss Cecelia Frioli Cashin; two sisters, Mrs. John E. Milan and Miss Annie E. Cashin; and two brothers, M. T. and T. M. Cashin, all of Norfolk. The funeral takes place Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Monsignor O'Farrell and other priests officiating.
