Humphries Cason, 72, widow of Capt. H.A. Cason, died at Staunton yesterday at 3 p.m. following an illness of several years. Mrs. Cason was a native of Shawboro, N.C., and had resided in Port Norfolk for 37 years prior to two and a half years ago. She was a daughter of the late Thomas C. and Mrs. Mary Frost Humphries. She was a member of the Broad Street Methodist Church, Port Norfolk, and the Tidal Wave Chapter No. 9, Order of Eastern Star, Port Norfolk. Mrs. Cason is survived by a niece Mrs. E.P. Ives, of Oceana; two nephews, the Rev. C.C. Bell, D.D., of Lynchburg, and Joseph H. Bell of Norfolk; two great nieces, Mrs. E. Ruffin Jones, Jr., of Gainesville, Fla., and Mrs. Joseph C. MacPhall, of Bay City, Mich.; and two great nephews, Howard P. Ives, of Oceana, and Lieut. C.C. Bell, Jr., an Army doctor, Veteran's Facility, Kecoughtan. Mrs. Cason's brother, Thomas Frost Humphries, died February 19. The body will be brought to Norfolk and will be taken to the Cox Funeral Home, from whence it will be taken to Broad Street Methodist Church, Port Norfolk, for funeral services Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Clifford Ramsey, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Magnolia Cemetery.
