CASON DIES IN HOSPITAL HERE For Many Years Widely Known In Local Marine Circles Capt. J.F. Cason, for many years employed by the New York, Philadelphia & Norfolk railroad and Norfolk & Washington Steamboat companies, died at St. Christopher's hospital yesterday morning. He was 53 years old. Captain Cason was well known in Norfolk marine circles. For the past four years he had been employed by the government at Panama and was visiting relatives here. He was taken ill at his brother's Ocean View cottage, May 4, and was taken to the hospital last Monday. He left Panama April 10 on a furlough. He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. S.F. Lankford of New York, Mrs. A.C. Skinner, Mrs. A.L. Baker and Margaret Cason of Norfolk; a son, Clyde G. Cason of Norfolk; his mother, Mrs. M.A. Hodges of South Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. N.B. Etheridge and two brothers, L.C. Cason of Ocean View and H.A. Cason of Port Norfolk. The funeral will occur at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Berkley, the rector, Rev. J.D Gibson, and Rev. T.J. Taylor of the Ocean view Methodist Church, officiating,, Interment in Magnolia Cemetery Berkley. The body was taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. A.C.
