She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur A. Cassidy; her sister, Susie Santucci; and her brother, Philip Sansone. She formerly lived in the Park Place section of Norfolk. She moved to Virginia Beach in Kempsville in 1963, where she lived for 45 years. Her last years were happily spent at The Ballentine in Norfolk, where she played bridge, was an avid reader and an all-around volunteer. She was an accomplished musician. She studied piano with Bristo Hardin and organ with Grover Oberle for 11 years. She was an organist and choir director at Glenwood Park Presbyterian Church in Norfolk. She was an associate organist and member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Virginia Beach for many years. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Mary Elizabeth, and her husband, Neil Johnson; two adoring grandchildren, Theresa Marie Johnson and Adam Joseph Johnson; one special niece and goddaughter, Suzanne Chavoustie; as well as many cousins, dear friends and neighbors. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with Father Cristiano Brito as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Norfolk. A visitation will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Colonial Ave., Norfolk, Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a rosary service in the chapel. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hdoliver.com.
