He was a native of Holly Springs, Ga., and had lived in South Norfolk the last 20 years. He was the son of Thomas M. and Mrs. Mollie Roach Casteel, and husband of Mrs. Fedora G. Casteel. He was a clerk employed by the Norfolk Shipbuilding and Drydock Corp. and was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Berkley. Besides his wife, surviving are one son, Archie M. Casteel of Edgewood, Md.; three sisters, Mrs. Alma C. Wilson and Miss Lillian L. Casteel, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. W. E. Cates of Willow Grove, Pa.; two brothers, L. J. Casteel of Charlotte, N C., and T. W. Casteel of Dahlonega, Ga., and three grandchildren. The body was taken to the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Berkley. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
