John E. Catalano, 77, of the 400 block of Ridgeley Road, retired president of Ajax 
Co. Inc. in Norfolk, died May 12, 1992, in his home.

Mr. Catalano was born in New York City. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament 
Catholic Church and the Jewish Community Center.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Bottino Catalano; a stepdaughter, Gracie B. 
Kirchgessner of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two stepsons, Michael L. Bottino of New York 
City and Sanford A. Bottino of Norfolk; a brother, Henry Rameo of Holiday, Fla.; 
and four grandchildren.

The graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. today in St. Mary's Cemetery by 
the Rev. Julian B. Goodman. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is handling 
arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
