Alma M. Chambers of the 2800 block of Mapleton Ave., a retired teacher, died 
Feb. 25, 1991, in a hospital. 

A Norfolk native, Mrs. Chambers had retired from the Pittsylvania County schools 
after 25 years. She was a graduate of Virginia State College. She was a member 
of St. John AME Church and the National Teachers Association. 

Survivors include three sisters, Elsie R. Chambers, Gwendolyn Milligan and Alice 
C. Bullock, all of Norfolk. 

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in St. John AME Church by the 
Rev. I.W. Knight. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The body will be placed 
in the church at 11 a.m. Friday. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
