The Rev. James A. Brennan, was celebrant; the Rev. F. Joseph Magri, deacon; the Rev. A. Canas, C.M., sub-deacon, and the Rev. Paul V. Heller, master of ceremonies. Present in the sanctuary were: The Most Rev. Andrew J. Brennan, Bishop of Richmond; the Rt. Rev. Msgr. T. E. Waters, the Rev. J. A. Tracy, C.M., the Rev. Leo J. Ryan, the Rev. E. A. Brosnan, the Rev. R. B. Kealey, the Rev. George Richardson, C.M., Father Sylvester, O.S.B., Father Adelbert, O.S.B., Father Timothy, O.S.B., the Rev. M. J. Harrison, the Rev. John Kociela, the Rev. A. Preston Campbell and the Rev. R. D. Beattie. After the mass, the Rev. James A. Brennan paid a high tribute to the long and useful life of Sister Martina Chambers in the Order of the Sisters of Charity. He referred to the high esteem in which she was held, particularly in Richmond, where she taught for more than 40 years. There were many flowers. The casket was covered with a double cluster of Easter lilies and fern, and the attendance at the mass was large. A delegation of Sister Chambers’ pupils from Richmond was present at the ceremony. Pallbearers were D. F. Donovan, Frank A. Evans, F. B. Parrott, Capt. John I. Clark, A. Bilisoly Hill and Charles B. Carroll. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
