Chamblin Dies; Partner In Lumber Firm John Allen Chamblin, 57, of 110 Virginia Avenue, Ingleside, died at a Norfolk hospital, Sunday at 10:45 p.m. after an illness of two weeks. He had been in failing health for two years. Mr. Chamblin was a partner in the Princess Anne Pile and Lumber Company. He was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, son of the late William R. and Mrs. Flora Brown Chamblin. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Mrs. Alice Newbury Chamblin, are a daughter, Miss Shirley L. Chamblin; a son, John Allan Chamblin, Jr.; two brothers, J. Gilmer Chamblin, and C. Chapman Chamblin, two stepchildren, Mrs. R.B. Smith and J.L. Hawkins and seven grandchildren, all of Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home today at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Melvin J. Hughes, pastor of Indian River Baptist Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
