Virginian Pilot September 5, 1955

Charles F. Chandler, 92, husband of the late Mrs. Bettie Mason Chandler and 
son of the late Lindsey T. Chandler and Mrs. Martha Smith Chandler, a 
lifelong resident of Norfolk, died at 4:30 a.m. yesterday in a Norfolk 
hospital following a long illness.  He resided at 307 Franklin Avenue.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Blaine and Mrs. Gladys Barber, 
both of Norfolk; and Mrs. Tessie Brentzil, of Columbus, Neb.; one son, 
William Chandler, of Norfolk; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 
three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Derry-Twiford Funeral Home Tuesday 
at 2 p.m. by the Rev. W.W. Williford, secretary of the Virginia Transit 
Company YMCA.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
