The Virginian Pilot Sunday March 21, 1982
VIRGINIA BEACH - Dr. Stanley Channing, 81, of 308 45th St., died Friday in 
his home.  He was a native of Norfolk County.
He had retired from a 40 year practice as a general internist.
He was a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia and Kansas City 
University.  He had practiced in Missouri and Keokuk, Iowa and had been on 
the staff of medicine at Iowa University.
He was a member of the American Medical Association; the Pharmaceutical 
Association of America; the Princess Anne Country Club; the Keokuk Country 
Club; the Kansas City Athletic Club; and was a 32nd degree Mason and a 
Shriner.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. John Winn of Virginia Beach and a brother, 
Conway Channing of Pittsburgh.
A graveside service will be held at noon Monday in Elmwood Cemetery by the 
Rev. Edmund Berkley.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, with H.D. Oliver 
Funeral Apartments, Virginia Beach, in charge.
