The Virginian Pilot Saturday October 9, 1971
William Alfred Chapman, 79, of 5409 N. Sunland Drive, Haven Heights, died 
Friday in a Norfolk nursing home after a long illness.
A native of Duluth, Minn., he was the husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Robinson 
Chapman and a son of John A. and Mrs. Josephine Chapman.
He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and retired in 1957 
after 28 1/2 years as warehouse foreman with Gulf Oil Corp.
His widow is his only survivor.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home, 
South Norfolk by the Rev. Philip W. Thomas of Oak Grove United Methodist 
Church.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight.
