Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Tuesday March 28, 1933
Charles Harrell Chapman, aged 48, son of the late Algernon Walter and Kate Lee 
Chapman, died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock.  Mr. 
Chapman was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk.  He was a member of the 
Christian Temple, Atlantic Lodge No. 2, A.F. & A.M. and of the Norfolk United 
Royal Arch Chapter No. 1.  Besides his wife, Mrs. Mary Gunter Chapman, he is 
survived by one daughter, Mrs. Katie Chapman Hill and a grandson, "Jimmie" Hill, 
both of Norfolk and a brother, William Henry Chapman of Richmond.
Funeral services will be held at the residence, 310 West Thirty-third street, 
tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock, with the Rev. Jason N. Pierce, D.D., pastor of 
the Christian Temple and the Rev. H.P. Myers, D. D., pastor of Park Place M.E. 
Church, officiating.  Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
