NORFOLK - Enid Maxine "Mother Chappell" Chappell, 92, of the 7000 block of Mamie
Blvd., passed away Nov. 1, 2010 at Sentara Leigh Hospital. She was born Sept.
24, 1918 to the late Lee Dickey Haith and Beatrice Bland in Burlington, N.C.
Enid was a member of Enoch Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess,
trustee and usher. She was predeceased by her husband, Warren G. Chappell.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Sheila Parham, Wanda Early, Jean Early and
John Early; one great-granddaughter; two great-grandsons; devoted adopted son,
Allen M. Hargrove; and an adopted daughter, Inez Grant; and a host of other
relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Enoch Baptist Church, Virginia
Beach. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk. Family will receive
friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby Street.
Family and friends will assemble at 7117 Mamie Blvd., one hour prior to service
for procession to the church. Condolences may be offered at
