Norfolk Journal and Guide, Oct 19,1963
Norfolk - Final rites will be held at noon Saturday at Hale Funeral Home for 
Mrs. Blanche Whitney Chappell of 1426 London street, Portsmouth.

Mrs.Chappell was the wife of William Chappell, and mother of Mrs. Marye W. 
Sprueill of Norfolk, proofreader of the Journal and Guide.

The Rev. C. H. Gordon will officiate at the service.  Burial will be in Calvary 
Cemetery.  The family and friends will be at 2819 Beachmont avenue prior to the 
funeral.

A member of Queen Street Baptist Church and the Elks, Mrs. Chappell was a native 
of Lewiston, NC.  She was the daughter of the late Gus Clark and Mrs. Fannie 
Clark.
