Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - November 21, 1991

Claude Donald Chappell, 87, of the 900 block of Royal Oak Close, died Nov. 
20, 1991, in his home.
Mr. Chappell was born in Norfolk County. He had retired as a supervisor from 
the Norfolk Naval Supply Center after 42 years.
He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and was a member and 
past master of George W. Wright Masonic Lodge 346. He was the widower of 
Lottie M. Chappell.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty C. McKinney of Virginia Beach; three 
sisters, Mary C. Pittman of Norfolk and Eunice C. Watts and Tama C. Evans, 
both of Chesapeake; four brothers, William C. Chappell, Elmer C. Chappell 
and Allen B. Chappell, all of Chesapeake, and Harold R. Chappell of 
Elizabeth City; and a grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Riverside 
Memorial Park by the Rev. Joseph T. Carson III. Friends may join the family 
from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church.
