Norfolk Journal and Guide, May 25,1963
Norfolk - The Rev. Thomas C. Chappelle, 68, former pastor of St. Mark’s
Community Church here, was given a funeral service at the church Monday.

The minister died May 15 in New York.  He was a native of Smithfield.

His eulogy ws delivered by the Rev. Zack Pippins, pastor of St. Mark’s.  Burial
was in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Graves Funeral Home.

The Rev. Mr. Chappelle is survived by his father, Henry Chappelle;  his wife,
Mrs. Marion Chappelle of Norfolk;  a son, Samuel Chappelle of Norfolk;  and a
brother, Bruce Chappelle of New Bern NC.
