Berkley Ave., a retired carpenter of Colonna Shipyard, died Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Chesapeake Manor Nursing Home. A native of Back Bay, Princess Anne County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Lessie Gregory Chappell. His parents were William T. and Mrs. Mary Murphy Chappell. A funeral service will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home by the Rev. Calvin G. Twiddy of Great Bridge Missionary Holiness Church. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. He was a member of Charity Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Edna Pilley and Mrs. Rosa Johnson of Chesapeake and Mrs. Lillie Burbage of Alexandria; a son, Benjamin Chappell of Chesapeake; a sister, Mrs. Bertie Henley, and two brothers, Colon Chappell and W. Joe Chappell, all of Virginian Beach; 16 grandchildren and 29 great- grandchildren.
