The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Wednesday January 23, 1963
Mrs. Lessie Lee Gregory Chappell, 70 of 2900 Berkley Ave., wife of George W. 
Chappell, died Monday in a Norfolk hospital.
Born in Knotts Island, N.C., she was a daughter of William Gregory and Mrs. 
Stella Gregory Hodges. She lived in the Chesapeake area 22 years. She was a 
member of Belhaven (N.C) Christian Church.
Besides her husband, surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Edna Pilley and Mrs. 
Rosa Johnson of Chesapeake and Mrs. Lillie Burbage of Virginia Beach; a son, 
Benjamin L. Chappell of Chesapeake; and a half sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor, 
and a half brother, William Gregory, both of Back Bay.
A funeral service will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home, 
Chesapeake. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
