Chappell, 83, of the 800 block of Brandon Ave., died May 8, 1990, in a hospital. Mrs. Chappell, a native of Lynch Station, Va., was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach. Survivors include her husband, Claude D. Chappell; a daughter, Betty C. McKinney of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Hazel R. Wilson of Virginia Beach and Marjorie R. Vining of Dickson, Tenn.; two brothers, F. Jennings Richardson and Charlie L. Richardson, both of Chesapeake; and a grandchild. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Riverside Memorial Park by the Rev. Joseph Carson. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk. Memorial donations may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
