A native of Lynchburg, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Besides her husband, survivors include three sons, Edward L. Powell Jr., Alvin Morris Powell, and Robert Louis Powell of Portsmouth. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. J. Sherrick Gilbert. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home tonight from 8 to 9. They will be at 412 Leavell Raod, Elizabeth Manor.
