Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, June 10, 1991 
Helen H. Cherry, of the 7000 block of Auburn Ave., a retired custodian, died
June 4, 1991, in Norfolk.

Mrs. Cherry, a native of Norfolk, had retired from the City of Norfolk after 20
years. She was the widow of James Cherry and was a member of Queen Street
Baptist Church. She was a member of United Order of Tents Lane Jewels 515.

Survivors include a son, Charles E. Wright of Norfolk; a brother, Leon J. Wright
of Chesapeake; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five
great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Queen Street Baptist Church
by the Rev. Peter Wherry. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . A wake will be
held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hale Funeral Home. Friends may join the family
at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home for the procession to the church.
