Cherry died Sunday morning at St. Vincent's Hospital after a lingering illness. The deceased was a son of Col. Isaiah Cherry and born at Deep Creek, Norfolk County, in 1841. He had been a resident of Berkley about twelve years and leaves a widow, four sons and three daughters. His funeral services were conducted at the residence of his nephew, Mr. Nat Tatum, yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. Robert Gatewood, assisted by Rev. M.W. Butler, and his remains, followed by Niemeyer-Shaw Camp, C.V., of which he was surgeon, were laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery in the presence of sorrowing friends and relatives. The following gentlemen acted as his pallbearers: Dr. George W. Wallace, Dr. George N. Halstead, Captain W.H. Kirby, J.L. Lawrence, Silas Ransom and Stephen Butler.
