Mr. Cherry was born in Norfolk and had retired from Alleghany Pepsi-Cola Bottlers Group after 39 years. He was a member of Aragona Moose Lodge 1198 and its board of trustees and drill team. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Lois Lee Cherry; and a son, James L. Cherry of Norfolk. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. Lou Rouff. Friends may join the family at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
