The Virginian-Pilot, Friday, April 13, 1984

NORFOLK - Jean Evelyn Cherry of 742 Johnson Ave., a native of Norfolk, died
Wednesday in a hospital.

Mrs. Cherry was a member of Queen Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Cherry; her father, James E. Savage Sr. of
Norfolk; two daughters, Yvette Jenkins and Charlene Cherry, both of Norfolk; a
sister, Carolyn Barber of Norfolk; three brothers, James E. Savage Jr. of
Washington, Ralph savage of Virginia Beach and James E. Savage III of Portsmouth;
and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:15 p.m. Sunday in Queen Street Baptist Church by
Dr. J. Jasper Freeman. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Hale Funeral Home is in
charge.

The family will be at her father's home, 2703 Marlboro Ave., Norfolk.
