F. W. Putney of Central Baptist Church. There was a large attendance. Among the magnificent floral tributes were a "gates ajar" from the Charles Gruin Gruin Transportation Company, a pillow from the Masters, Mates and Pilots' Association; a pillow from the I.O.O.F., a cluster of carnations from the Heptosophs Heptosophs; a "square and compass" from the Masons, and "keystone" from the Royal Arch chapter. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery. The pallbearers were as follows: Captain L. A.. Nills and Frank Norton, from the Masons; T. E. McCiskie and J. L. Joyner, from the I.O.O.F.; E. W. Bray and W. P. Johnson, from the and J. L. Joyner, from the I.O.O.F.; E. W. Bray and W. P. Johnson, from the Heptosophs Heptosophs; R. W. Stephens and George W. P. Overman, from the Masters, Mates and Pilots' Association, and J. P. Dukes and Captain A. J. Hudson, citizens.
