F. W. Putney of Central Baptist church. There was a large attendance. Among the magnificent floral tributes were a “gates ajar" from the Charles Gruin Transportation Company, a pillow from the Henderson Transportation Company, a pillow from the Masters, Mates and Pilots' association; a pillow from the I. O. O. F., a cluster of carnations from the Heptosophs; a "square and compass" from the Masons, and a "keystone" from the Royal Arch chapter. Interment was in Elmwood cemetery. The pallbearers were as follows: Captain L. A. Nills and Frank Norton, from the Masons; T. E. McCiskie and J. L. Joyner, from the I. O. O. F.; E. W. Bray and W. P. Johnson, from the Heptosophs; R. W. Stephens and George W. P. Overman, from the Masters. Mates and Pilots’ association, and J. P. Dukes and Captain A. J. Hudson, citizens.
