NEWPORT NEWS — Mrs. Mary Brownley Cheshire, 74, of 530 Denbigh Blvd., formerly of 
Norfolk, died Tuesday in a hospital.

A native of Portsmouth, she was a daughter of Leonard and Mrs. Mary Frances 
Alexander Brownley and the widow of Charles C. Cheshire Sr.

She lived in Norfolk 53 years before moving to Newport News in September 1987.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert P. Deans of Newport News; two sons, 
Charles C. Cheshire Jr. of Port Arthur, Tex., and Ned B. Cheshire of Houston, 
Tex.; three, sisters, Mrs. Etta Wagner of Elk View, W.Va., Mrs. A. B. Parkerson of 
Bridgetown, Mo., and Mrs. Edward Lawrence of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren; and 
four great-grandchildren.

The body was taken to Riverside Funeral Home. The family will be at 28 Minton 
Drive.
