Cheshire died yesterday afternoon at 5:50 o’clock at St. Vincent’s Hospital in the 65th year of her age. The deceased was the widow of George W. Cheshire and mother of E.C. Cheshire and Mrs. Grace C. Cheshire of this city. She was a native of the Eastern Shore of Virginia and had resided in Norfolk from about 45 years. Mrs. Cheshire was a most estimable lady, and during her long residence in the city had made many warm friends by whom her demise is greatly regretted. The funeral occurs tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment in Elmwood. Ledger-Dispatch, Thurs., Sept. 10, 1908, pg. 10 The funeral of Mrs. Letitia D. Cheshire, widow of George W. Cheshire, took place at 10 o’clock this morning from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and was largely attended. Requiem Mass was conducted by Rev. Father Edward Walsh, associate pastor of St. Mary’s Church, and Rev. Father John Doherty, pastor of St. Mary’s, and Rev. Father J.A. Kelliber, of the Italian Catholic Church, were present. Mrs. James Hughes sang two solo, “O Salutaris” at the offertory and “Lead Kindly Light” at the conclusion of the service. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, and the following being pall-bearers: J.A. Barnes, J.A. Barlow, Frank W. McCourt, M.D. Spruill, W.J. Scultatus, Wm. McLean, M.G. Long and M.J. Madden.
